Seattle, WA - Explorations in Math
Shanon Doolittle fundraising for EXPLORATIONS IN MATH
Raising some serious cash for Explorations in Math. One of Sir Isaac Newton's favorite nonprofits. True-ish story.
You + Explorations in Math = Happy, Smart Kids
So what’s the skinny on Explorations in Math, Seattle’s Twive and Receive beneficiary? They work with teachers and parents of elementary-age kids to make math fun, tactile, and engaging. In turn, students develop a cool and confident attitude about math in their lives.
Sound awesome? That’s because it is! And it’s a result getter too. One recent stat (c’mon, we’re talking math here, how could I resist)? 56 percent of Exploration in Math Club participants improved their math skills in one school year. Now that's what I call impact.
And besides it being a solid program helping kids do better in school, Explorations in Math is an organization that knows how to have fun—all year round. In the summer, they have math camps to keep kids learning and the math momentum moving. My favorite? Pirates Ahoy! Adventures in Arrghrithmetic. If that’s not setting the mood for fun, I don’t know what is.
